At the bottom of the page you will find a link to a couple of articles about lactic acid, and it's benefits to our performance. Lactic acid catches a bad rap, but is actually essential for our performance. The first article just describes what the lactic acid does that is beneficial and why we need it. The second article highlights what kinds of food might help our bodies produce and use it more efficiently. A third thing on the document is simply a video animation, explaining what goes on during a muscle contraction...just interesting stuff to know what your body is doing.
